Cada año desde hace 5 años hago mi Wish board y lo coloco como wallpaper en mi computadora del trabajo y la personal, este año he andado muy ocupada así que no había tenido tiempo de hacerlo, pero ya me di un tiempecin y lo empecé… aquí les comparto los que he hecho los años anteriores y lo que llevo hasta el momento del de este año.

Every year since 2008 I make a Wish Board to use as wallpaper in my computer. I started this year very busy so I didn’t have time to do one for this year until now… I just started it, so here I share with you what I have so far and also the previous ones.

Pues mi bebé ya nació y gracias a Dios todo salió bien, ahorita estamos en plena recuperación y adaptándonos a la nueva rutina… espero volver pronto. Mientras tanto les dejo esta foto tomada por Cecy Young de mi sesión de embarazo.

Hace tiempo tengo obsesión por las rayas… lo bueno es que siguen siendo tendencia así que aún podemos encontrar muchas prendas y accesorios con ellas…

I have been obsessed with stripes for a while… the good news are they are still in trend so we can find a lot of clothes and accessories with them on it.

Obviamente al ver estas flats a rayas no me pude resistir, además ese tono azul es de mis favoritos…

En unas horas más serán los Golden Globes y una de las favoritas en llevarse el premio a la mejor actriz de drama es Natalie Portman por 'Black Swan'. Yo estoy emocionada por ver la red carpet y ver que atuendos llevan todas las actrices, en especial Natalie. Se dice que entre los favoritos para vestirla están Dior y Rodarte. El primero porque Natalie es la actual imagen de la fragancia Miss Dior y las hermanas Mulleavy por haber sido las responsables del vestuario en la película por la cual está nominada.

Me encanta ir a los mercaditos, así que cuando me enteré que existía uno en Brooklyn me propuse ir a visitarlo durante mi viaje a NY. No siempre uno encuentra cosas que comprar en los mercaditos, pero es lo divertido de ellos, a veces encuentras cosas muy padres, a veces no… en esa ocasión que visité el Brooklyn Flea no compré nada pero tome algunas fotos que quiero compartirles.

I love Flea markets, so when I knew about the Brooklyn Flea I decided to go and see what I could find during my trip to NY. That time I didn´t find anything to buy but I had fun taking pictures, so I want to share them with you.

Nunca he había disfrazado en Halloween (bueno, solo cuando era niña y me disfrazaba mi mamá) y la verdad es que desde hace tiempo tenía esa inquietud… traté de prepararme con anticipación pero por falta de tiempo termine buscando inspiración para usar cosas que ya tenía en la casa… al final resulto bien, me gustó mi disfraz y no tuve que gastar tanto, lo único que no tenia era el bowtie y las pestañas , pero solo me tomo unos 10 min hacer el moñito de un retaso de tela que ya tenía en casa y las pestañas no más de 40 pesos.

This is the 1st time since I´m older that I get dressed for Halloween; I had no time to prepare during the week so I end up looking for inspiration in the web to use clothes and accessories I already have. At the end I enjoy my costume and it was good that I did not spend too much money to do it. I just did the bowtie but it takes me no more than 10 minutes and I just use a little piece of fabric I already have at home and I bought the false eyelashes at Sally´s for no more than $4 usd.

Here you got the easy steps to decorate your cupcakes for this Halloween.

Para este sencillo tutorial solo necesitas: Unos cupcakes listos para decorar, betún preparado de sabor chocolate, galletas oreo o similares y unas gomitas en forma de gusanos.

Si encuentras gomitas en forma de ojos de último minuto, como las que encontré en el Wal-Mart, puedes agregarlas para darle un look más spooky.

If you find some Jelly eyes you can add them to the decoration to make it look spookier.

Hacía tiempo que quería aprender cómo hacer el efecto de colores pastel en las fotos y me di unos minutos para investigar en la red y encontré un tutorial en el blog de Carmen Moreno. No seguí los pasos al pie de la letra, le hice algunas modificaciones, pero el tutorial me sirvió para darme una idea de cómo empezar, así que si quieren aprender también denle clic aquí.

I wanted to learn how to edit pictures with cute pastel colors and I just found a tutorial in the blog of Carmen Moreno. I did not follow exactly the steps but that tutorial helped me to get an idea on how to make the effects, so if you are interested in learn how to make this effect, take a look.

DIY: Floral Skirt

Aquí les dejo el DIY de la falda floreada que les mencioné aqui. Here is the DIY for the floral skirt I mentioned before here.

Usé un patron de falda recta para la falda, si no saben como hacerlo pueden encontrar las instrucciones aqui. I used a stretch skirt pattern, if you don´t know how to make it you can find the instructions here.

Respondiendo a las preguntas que me hacen en los comentarios:
La playera creo que la compré en un Wal-Mart, es una t-shirt de corte normal marca Jerzees

El papel que utilicé se llama papel transfer, es del tamaño de una hoja de maquina y es especial para impresion. La imagen la imprimí en un Office Depot, ahí mismo tienen el papel.

Para pegar la imagen se despega una cubierta del papel (como si fuera una calcomanía) y se pone sobra la playera, se pone el trapo y se plancha.

Espero haber resuelto sus dudas

Hoy fue mi primer día de trabajo después de casi 2 años de estar en casa… así que para el post de hoy se me ocurrió poner algunas fotos de outfits que podrían servir de inspiración para ir a la oficina. Today was my 1st day at work after almost 2 years of staying at home, so for today´s post I will share with you some outfit pictures that could be a good inspiration for the office dress code.

Yesterday I went to the Maria Vogel fashion show, some of you might remember her because of the time I post some pics of her designs here.

The place looked very nice and well organized. I even had a chair with my name on it (I forgot to take a picture of it u.u)

Desde hace tiempo que vi esa chamarra de Valentine Gauthier en Betty y Eleonore (lamechante) tenía ganas de tener algo con alitas y justo ayer que fuí a la tienda de manualidades encontré unas aplicaciones que eran justo lo que necesitaba. No soy fan del color dorado pero era el único color que encontré así que ni hablar… tenía esa blusa negra de Express que compré en Ross así que decidí darle un makeover…

I have been in love with those wings on the jacket designed by Valentine Gauthier since I saw it in Betty and Eleonore time ago. Yesterday I went to the craft store and found some appliqués that remind me of that so I decide give me some wings. I hope you like it...

El pasado fin de semana salí de paseo y no pude evitar comprar este blazer que encontré en las rebajas de Sfera, fue tanta mi emoción que lo estrené justo un día después de comprarlo, el 14 de febrero. Lo usé con uno de mis collares DIY que no les había mostrado. Last weekend I went out and found this cut blazer on the sales at Sfera, I was so excited about it so I wore it right the next day, on Valentine’s Day. I wore it with one of my DIY necklaces that I haven´t showed you yet.

DIY - Chain necklace

Hacía tiempo que no subía un DIY, así que aquí les dejo este a ver qué les parece. I haven´t done a DIY since a long time, so here is one let me know what do you think.

1. Retirar el listón de gamuza del cinto. Take out the suede lace from the belt

2. Cortar el cinto en dos partes. Cut the belt in two parts.

3. Colocar el listón rosa en una de las mitades del cinto. Put the pink ribbon in one of the belt parts.

4. Colocar la cadena encima del listón rosa. Put the chain upper the pink ribbon.

5. Corta los sobrantes del listón y está listo. Cut the ribbon edges and that is it.

Está fácil ¿no? Aún tengo la otra mitad del cinto para hacer un collar más, pero todavía no decido el color, ¿A ustedes de qué color les gustaría?

Easy, don´t you think? I still have the other part of the belt so I can make one more necklace but I have not decided yet the color, which color would you choose?

Ese fue el slogan del evento que se llevó a cabo el pasado 16 de Diciembre en La Galería Café ubicado en el barrio antiguo de Monterrey. That was the slogan for the event held last Dec 16 at La Galeria Café located in Monterrey Downtown.

Dicho evento consistió en un desfile en el que Gallo presentó su nueva colección de bufandas "Trying to be Sweet”. In that event Gallo presented his scarves collection "Trying to be Sweet”.

Al finalizar el desfile disfrutamos de los deliciosos Betty Vermellon Cupcakes de QuieroPosh acompañados por una bebida llamada Richie Carmin Drink creada por La Galeria Café especialmente para el evento. After the runway show we had the opportunity to enjoy some delicious Betty Vermellon Cupcakes by QuieroPosh with a drink called Richie Carmin Drink created by La Galeria Café especially for the event.

Tuve la oportunidad de asistir al evento ya que Mirtha de QuieroPosh me invito a colaborar con ella para realizar la decoración de las mesas, así que aquí les dejo algunas fotos tanto de las mesas que decoré como del resto de la velada, a ver que les parecen. Mirtha from QuieroPosh invited me to collaborate with her to do the decoration of the dessert tables for the event, so here are the pictures of the tables I designed and some others from the rest of the event. Esta foto fue tomada al finalizar la primer carrera de 10K que hice en el año, desgraciadamente en esa carrera me lastimé la rodilla y solo pude participar en una más durante todo el año, por lo que mi propósito de este año de participar en un maratón se vio frustrada, espero que el próximo año mis rodillas estén mejor y pueda regresar a las carreras. Por cierto, soy la de playera verde.

This picture is form the first 10K I did this year, unfortunately in that race I injured my knee so I can only participate in another 10K during the year, because of that I couldn´t achieve my goal to participate on a marathon in this year. I hope my knee feels better next year so I can continue on races. By the way, I am the one wearing a green T-shirt on the center of the pic.

My Vintage B-Day Party

Muchas gracias a todas por sus felicitaciones. Thanks a lot for all the happy B-day comments.

Aquí les dejo las imágenes de la decoración que hice para mi fiesta vintage, a ver qué les parece. As I promise here are the images I took from the decoration of my vintage party, I hope you like it.

La verdad es que estuvo muy divertida. I had so much fun.

Puse una mesa de postres que incluyó quequitos de POSH (ya había hablado de ellos aquí), bombones decorados con chocolate, bases de galletas con betún de filadelfia y fresas, muchas fresas. I put a dessert table that includes POSH cupcakes (I already talked about them here), chocolate covered bonbons, cookies with philadelphia cheese and strawberries and more strawberries.

En la mesa principal había como canapés atún con filadelfia y chipotle con galletas saladas. In the main table there was some tuna fish with philadelphia cheese and chipotle with crackers.

Además puse una mesa con café y otra con agua fresca para acompañar los postres y los canapés. In other table I put some drinks that included coffee, strawberry water and soda.

Y para la diversión armé un Photo Boot en el que nos tomamos muchas fotos con accesorios que tenia por ahí y otros más que hice para la ocasión. To have fun that day I made a Photo Boot so we took a lot of pictures with some props I already had and some I made for that day.

En el próximo post les enseño mi outfit vintage que use ese día. In the next post I´ll show you my outfit from that day.

Para este momento ya muchos sabemos del momento terrible por el que está pasando debido a que uno de sus accionistas mayoritarios ha retirado su dinero de la firma. By now many of you already know the hard time she is having due to one of the major actionists has retired his money from the firm.

Ya se han creado diversos grupos de apoyo para Luella tanto en Facebook como en Twitter. There are already some groups supporting Luella on Facebook and Twitter.

Yo ya me uní al movimiento en Twitter. I already join the Twitter one.

Esperemos que se arregle este problema y podamos seguir disfrutando de sus maravillosos diseños (Aunque sea en fotos ya que mi economía no me permite un lujo de esos). I hope this problem get solved so we keep enjoying her wonderful designs (At least in pictures, in my case, because my economy does not allow me that kind of luxuries LOL).

Me encantan estos pantalones porque siempre los uso con plataformas gigantes que me hacen ver alta y además pareciera que tengo piernas largas. Mido 1.52m así que vaya que me hacen falta las plataformas. I really love them because with those jeans I always use platform shoes so they make me look taller and seems like I have long legs. I am 5' tall btw.

Gracias al post de Pink Bow me enteré de este proyecto y la competencia que hay dentro del mismo. Thanks to Pink Bow I knew about this project and the competition.

Este proyecto fue diseñado para contribuir con el financiamiento del centro Simelela en South África. Jimmy Choo donará el 25% de las ventas que se recauden del Proyecto PEP a la Fundación de Elton John contra el SIDA . This project is designed to support the funding of the Simelela centre in South Africa. Jimmy Choo will donate 25% of the net sales from Project PEP to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Para participar en la competencia solo tienes que cargan una imagen que tenga algo que ver contigo, tus zapatos y 72. DIY - Jelly Pumpkin

Ya casi es noche de Halloween, todavía tengo dulces que me sobraron de la fiesta de mi sobrino, así que estaba pensado en regalarlos a los niños que vengan a pedir dulces ese día y de pronto se me ocurrió la idea de hacer calabacitas con las gomitas que tenia, así que decidí hacer este tutorial por si a alguien le interés, es muy fácil así que aun hay tiempo. Halloween is almost here and I still have some candy leftover from my nephew´s party so I was thinking to give them away to the kids who ask for candy on the night of 31th, then this idea of Pumpkin made of jelly and gummies pop into my head so I decide to make a tutorial for anyone who want to try it, it is so easy, so there is still time to do it.

Para hacer una calabacita necesitas una gomita en forma de gusanito que tenga color verde y unas 8 gomitas en forma de gajitos de naranja. To make one piece you will need one gummy worm that has green on it and approximately 8 fruit jellies in the shape of orange slices.

1. Corta la parte verde del gusanito y guarda el resto para el paso 3. Cut the green end of the worm and save the rest for step 3.
2. Corta los lados de cada una de los gajitos para formar un Angulo como la figura de abajo. Cut the sides of each orange slice to make a small angle in the inner part (see image below).

3 & 4. Coloca el resto del gusanito en una charola que se pueda meter al micro y calienta por 10 segundos o lo que requiera para derretirse. Put the rest of the worm in a safe microwave plate and heat it for about 10 seconds or time necessary to melt.
5. Úsalo como pegamento para unir los gajitos. Use the melted worm as glue to stick together all the orange jelly slices.
6. Presiona los gajitos para dar la forma deseada. Press all slices together to get a nice round shape.
7. Coloca el gusanito verde como tallo de la calabacita. Use the green part of the worm as a pumpkin stem.

Y es todo, ¿muy fácil no? También le puedes dibujar una carita si tienes marcadores de tinta comestible, yo no tengo así que la dejé así. And that is it, you can also draw the face with some Edible Color Markers if you got some; I have not so I just leave it like that.

Desde que hice el post del look marinero me quedé con la obsesión de las rayas, y como ya tengo azules y rojas mi obsesión actual son las rayas negras.... y más ahora, después de ver que todo el mundo las está usando y cómo las están usando, los outfits se ven increíbles… ¿A poco no se les antojan?

Since I made the post about the nautical look I get obsessed with stripes but I already have some in red and navy blue so my actual obsession is just with black stripes, and now more than ever since there are a lot of people looking great wearing them … don´t you feel like wearing some stripes?

Without poetry there is no city

El fin de semana pasado nos dimos una vuelta mi esposo y yo por la feria del libro. Last weekend my husband and I went to the book fair.

Lo que me gusto mucho de la feria de este año es que había una exposición fotográfica acerca de Acción Poética. What i did like a lot from this year´s fair is the photography exposition about Acción Poética.

Acción poética, para los que no son de esta ciudad o no se han topado con las paredes blancas con mensajes en letras negras por la ciudad, es un movimiento fundado en 1996 por Armando Alanís Pulido que se dedica a escribir pequeñas frases de poesía en las paredes de Monterrey. Accion Poética, for those that are not from this city or haven´t seen yet the white walls with messages in black ink around the city, this is a movement founded in 1996 by Armando Alanís who write small poetical phrases in the walls of the city.

Además de la exposición, el movimiento de Acción Poética estaba vendiendo playeras con sus frases, no había de mi talla así que me quedé con las ganas de una, tampoco les tomé foto para mostrárselas, pero las pueden ver aquí. Besides the exposition, this movement brings some t-shirts with the phrases on them, I did not take pictures of the t-shirts but you can see them here, I wanted one but they don´t fit me.

There is only one "you and me"

Otra cosa interesante es que también existe la posibilidad de colaborar con el movimiento, ya que durante la feria del libro había unas postales en las que podías escribir una frase que quisieras que apareciera en algún lugar de la cuidad, la única restricción es que la frase no fuera mayor de 8 palabras. En ese momento no se me ocurrió nada, pero sería genial poder colaborar, no creen?. Another interesting thing is that in those days of the book fair, there was the opportunity to collaborate with the movement, they have some postcards in which you can write a phrase with no more than 8 words so the founder of the movement will choose some of the suggestions to put in some wall in the city, nice isn it?

Hacía tiempo que tenía pensado publicar estas fotos, son de la fiesta de mi sobrino que se celebró el mes pasado. I was thinking on publish this pictures since last month, they are from my nephew’s Birthday party.

Para su cumpleaños decidí regalarle una mesa de dulces inspirada en una de las fabulosas creaciones de Amy Atlas, para quienes no la conocen aún, chequen su blog para que se maravillen con sus diseños tan originales. For his birthday I decide to make him as a gift a dessert table inspired in the Candy Shop Dessert Table from Amy Atlas, if you still do not know Amy, go visit her Blog and admire hers great designs.

El tema de inspiración para la fiesta fueron los M&Ms, así que la mesa la diseñé con los colores de los chocolatitos. The party theme was M&Ms, so I designed the table following the colors of little chocolates.

El cartel y las etiquetas de las bolsitas fueron inspirados por el logotipo de Dylan´s Candy Bar. The table sign and tags were designed inspired in the logo of Dylan´s Candy Bar.

La decoración del pastel la hice gracias a la información que obtuve en el post Kit Kat and M&M Birthday Cake del blog de Paige's Pantry. The cake decoration was made following Paige's Pantry instructions from her post Kit Kat and M&M Birthday Cake.

Y las Oreos decoradas son como las que les mostré aquí. And the decorated Oreos were like the ones I showed you here.

Mi sobrino y todos los niños estaban fascinados con los dulces. My nephew and all the children were fascinated with all the candy.

Una de mis revistas favoritas es InStyle Mexico, el año pasado compré casi todos los números… Me gusta mucho leer los tips de moda y sugerencia de outfits que publican. One of my fave magazines is InStyle México, last year I bought almost all issues… I like to read all the fashion tips and outfits suggestions they publish in the magazine.

En el número de abril apareció el especial de color en el que te daban opciones de cómo obtener looks con esta tendencia según tu estado de ánimo, podías ir desde un look con tendencia suave hasta el total look. In the April issue they publish an article about color in which they gave options to get a trendy look according to your mood, you can choose a soft look adding just a hint of color to a simple look or you can go with the total look.

Aunque ya están por terminar los días de calor… se me ocurrió hacer algo semejante con el look marinero, que estuvo muy de moda este verano… Even though the hot day is almost over, I decide to do something similar with the navy look which was a hug trend this summer.

Inspirada en la colección RTW de D&G 2009 me di un chapuzón en el armario y seleccioné algunas prendas que me sirvieran para formar los outfits, fue algo fácil ya que de toda la vida me ha gustado el look marinero y además mi color favorito es el azul marino. Como les había prometido en el post anterior, aquí les dejo las fotos que tomé en la sesión final del curso de fotografía que tomé con MYSOL. As I promised in my last post, here are the pics I took in my last class of photography I took with MYSOL.

La modelo muy profesional nos facilitó bastante las cosas. The model is such a pro, she makes the session so easy for us.

Estuvo súper divertida la sesión. We had a lot of fun that day.

No sé si es porque ya se acerca el tiempo de frio o que será pero últimamente he estado obsesionada con blogs de postres y estilistas de comida (así como lo leen, yo ni siquiera sabía que existían los estilistas de comida) les recomiendo Cannelle et Vanille. I don´t know if is because cold weather is close or what but lately I have been obsessed with blogs about desserts and food stylists like the one called Cannelle et Vanille which is one of my faves so if you got a chance I recommend you to go and check it.

Así que como hoy toca mi reunión con las amigas me decidí a experimentar algún postre, me decidí por algo sencillo, unos oreos cubiertas de chocolate… y pues como buena alumna recién graduada del curso de fotografía le tomo foto a todo jejeje. Well since today is Girls night I decided to experiment a Little bit so I decided to make something easy: Chocolate covered Oreo. Since I´m still exited about my photography course, I take pictures of everything ;)

Hello!

Pues aquí estoy en casa de mi hermana, vine un rato a usar su internet para actualizar… espero que la próxima semana me restablezcan el servicio en mi casa.

Tenía tiempo buscando una jaula y por fin la encontré, fui hace unos fines por primera vez al puente del Papa y ahí estaba.

I was looking for a birdcage and few weeks ago I went to a famous flea market here in the city, in which I have never been before even though I live here since I born, and guess what? Yes, I found it.

Aún no decido si le dejaré dentro de la casa o la pondré de adorno en el jardín, lo que es un hecho es que la pintaré de blanco para se vea mejor.

I have not decided yet if I will keep it inside my house or I will put it in the garden, what is already a fact is the color; I will turn it white so it will look prettier.

Pasando a otra cosa, mañana empieza el curso de fotografía al que voy a asistir, es un curso de un mes, la instructora se llama Mysol y toma fotos muy padres, aquí les dejo una muestra de su trabajo, siguiendo con el tema de las jaulas.

Desayuno con diamantes es mi sección favorita del blog de Moda y un poco más de María. Ahí puede uno conocer gente muy talentosa y muchas buenas ideas para DIY para quienes nos gusta esto de hacer manualidades y para las que no pues ahí pueden conseguir cosas lindas que comprar para usar o regalar.

Desayuno con diamantes is my favorite section from the blog Moda y un poco más. In that section you can meet very talented people and also get great ideas for DIY projects, if you don´t feel like make some craft you can see there where to buy nice handmade things, they are great for gifts.

1. Tengo la mania de que cuando me gusta un CD lo escucho todo el dia por muchos dias hasta que encuentro otro que me guste y empieza el mismo proceso... el último con el que hice eso fue con el de Ximena Sariñana. When I find a CD that drives me crazy I listen to it all day long for many days until I find a new CD and the process start over... last time I did this was with the Ximena Sariñana´s CD.

2. Soy muy lenta para comer y platico mucho durante la comida... en uno de los trabajos que tuve mis compañeros me hacian la ley del hielo para que terminara de comer pronto. I´m very slow during meals and also talks a lot, in one of the jobs I got my friends did not talk to me during lunch time by porpouse so I can finish faster.

3. Soy adcita al limón, le pongo a todo lo que pueda... me encanta! I´m addicted to lemon, I put it on everithing I can, I love it!

4. Tengo unos lunares en la pierna izquierda y eran mi trauma cuando era mas chica, además que odiaba estar flaca así que no me gustaba enseñar mis piernas. I didn´t like to show my legs when I was a child because I have some kind of beauty spots in my left leg and I hated to be skinny at that time.

5. De niña me daba mucho miedo el programa de Hulk hasta la fecha de repente sueño con él y me da miedo, a mi esposo le da mucha risa eso. When I was a child I was affraid of Hulk, some times I still dream about him and I get scared, my housband makes fun of me because of that.

RED HEART Wish List

Ya estoy deseando terminar los proyectos que tengo pendientes como la Blusa de Audrey y la Falda Rosa, pero mi mamá se llevo la máquina de coser así que tengo que esperar a que me la regrese... I´m willing to finish my open projects like Holly Tee and Pink Skirt but my mom has the sewing machine at her house so I have to wait until she brings it back...

Mientras tanto busco inspiración en la red y encuentro cosas interesantes, ahora estoy deseando tener estos dos accesorios. So by now I just search for inspiration for future projects on internet and found interesting things, right now I had two items in my wish list:

DIY - Carrie inspired outfit * in progress *

Después de mucho pensarle me decidí a usar un tono pastel para hacer la falda estilo Carrie Bradshaw que las había mencionado en el primer post de esta nueva versión de mi blog. After a lot of thinking I decided to use a pastel color to make the Carrie Bradshaw inspired skirt that I mention in my 1st post.

Aún no está terminada, así que solo les adelanto unas fotos con lo que llevo hasta el momento. Is not finished yet, so here are some pictures of the progress
